Ron Norick Downtown Library Oklahoma City, OK

Inspiring imagination & enhancing knowledge

This 114,000 SF, four-story library located in Downtown Oklahoma City exhibits a striking, high-tech appearance with a combination of curvilinear and angular geometry. The exterior is clad in gleaming white metal panels interlaced with long ribbons of azure glass windows and multi-story glass walls. The building serves several functions. The first two floors serve as a traditional library including a unique children’s library, an Oklahoma Collection Library and study areas. The third floor houses the administrative offices for the Metropolitan Library System that coordinates the library system serving the entire Oklahoma City metropolitan area. Classrooms are provided on the fourth floor for the Oklahoma City Learning Consortium. The Forum Room, a 100- seat auditorium, is also located on the fourth floor and serves as a community meeting place for recitals, business meetings and various other events.
