The City of Bixby has taken on the challenges of a growing city and responded with yet another investment that continues the synergy created by previous projects. With the commission of a new fire station and Emergency Operations Center (EOC), the City of Bixby is able to incorporate much needed medical services to their first response teams. The new facility will be vital in providing faster and more localized response teams. The addition of a dedicated EOC equips the city with the ability to continue serving their great community through emergency events.
The Design blends elements of traditional fire houses with the newly established City of Bixby design guidelines; resulting in an elegant modern building rooted in tradition, yet poised to serve the City’s growing community for years to come. The new building was an opportunity to re-envision and analyze the function and dynamics of a modern-day fire station and the many ways it impacts and serves the community. Beck Design worked closely with the City and Fire Department’s leadership teams to ensure all current and future needs were incorporated into the architectural design. The new fire station no.1 continues the transformation of the City of Bixby and proudly showcases a new standard for a city on its “journey to the next level”.
