The McKnight Center will host two fun, free events this week. Both events are open to the public. Please join us!
Friday, September 27 | 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
DNA IV Sculpture Dedication
The McKnight Center is thrilled to showcase Bill Barrett's bronze sculpture, DNA IV. This majestic work of art sits near the outdoor plaza on the northwest side of the facility. DNA IV measures approximately 12 feet in height and 18 feet in width, and features twisted ribbon shapes that are lyrically elegant and flowing, and evoke a visual representation of musicality.
On Friday, September 27, we invite you to celebrate the addition of this incredible sculpture to the OSU collection of public works at our Sculpture Dedication event. You'll be able to view the sculpture up-close, enjoy a special performance by Perpetual Motion Dance, and tour The McKnight Center.
Saturday, September 28 | 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Ribbon Cutting and Open House
On Saturday, September 28, we will officially open the doors to The McKnight Center for our Inaugural Season! This is a momentous occasion and we invite you to share this milestone with us.
Arrive at 2 p.m. to enjoy an outdoor reception in our plaza. Stay for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, followed by a reception in the Marilynn and Carol Thoma Atrium, self-guided tours of the center, and even a surprise performance! Knowledgeable docents will be stationed throughout the building to answer your questions and provide insights on the aesthetic and architectural design of our state-of-the-art performance center, and staff will be available in the Jim and Lou Ann Box Office to assist you with any ticketing needs.
